Connect your eBay
Takes about two minutes. After this, every card page gets a 🚀 List on eBay button, and the Cards page gets List all and Sync sales.
What you need
- An eBay account that's set up for selling (you've listed at least one thing before, or completed seller registration).
- Business policies turned on. Most sellers already have them. If you're not sure, step 3 below checks for you.
Steps
If the dropdowns say none found: in eBay go to Account → Selling → Business policies and switch them on (eBay will convert your existing shipping/return settings into policies). Then tap Load again.
That's it. Open any identified card and tap 🚀 List on eBay. It uploads the photos, fills in the item specifics (card name, set, number, year, finish, condition) and publishes at your asking price. The card flips to ON EBAY with a link to the live listing.
How listing works
- Price: your Ask. No ask? It uses your auto-ask % of the PriceCharting market price, rounded down to .99 (e.g. market $6.41 × 95% →
$5.99). Set the % in Settings; $ Auto-ask on the Cards page fills asks in bulk. - Duplicates: identical cards (same name, number, finish, condition) under your threshold (default $20) become one listing with a quantity. Anything at or over the threshold is listed on its own with its own photos.
- Update listing: change the ask or retake photos, then tap ↻ Update listing on the card to push the change live.
- End listing: pulls it off eBay and the card goes back to Unlisted.
- Sync sales: checks your eBay orders and marks sold cards with the sale price and date. Tap it whenever; it only looks at listings made from Card Vault.
Troubleshooting
- "Pick your shipping / payment / return policies first" → Step 3 above.
- "Enter your ship-from ZIP code" → Step 4.
- "No asking price and no market price" → tap ↻ Refresh price on the card or type an Ask.
- "eBay not connected" after it worked before → eBay tokens expire after ~18 months; tap Connect eBay again.
- Anything else: the exact eBay error is shown on the card page under Last eBay error. eBay's messages are usually specific ("Title too long", "Category requires …").
Site admin: one-time eBay app setup
Only the person running the site does this, once. It creates the "app" that users approve in step 2.
- Go to developer.ebay.com and sign in with your eBay account (you may have to accept the developer agreement — it's free).
- Application Keys (top right menu) → under Production tap Create a keyset. If eBay asks for a Privacy Policy URL, paste the one shown in Card Vault → Settings → eBay app setup.
- Copy the App ID (Client ID) and Cert ID (Client Secret) into Card Vault → Settings → eBay app setup.
- Back on the keys page, under the Production keyset tap User Tokens → Get a Token from eBay via Your Application → Add eBay Redirect URL:
- Display title:
Card Vault - Privacy policy URL: the privacy URL from Card Vault settings
- Your auth accepted URL: the Callback URL shown in Card Vault settings (ends in
/api/ebay/callback) - Your auth declined URL: same callback URL
- OAuth enabled: checked
Your_Name-YourAppN-Produ-abcdefgh). Copy it into Card Vault → RuName. - Display title:
- Tap Save app keys. Everyone on the site can now use Connect eBay.
New production keysets can call the Sell APIs right away. eBay may email about an "application growth check" after a few thousand calls a day — a handful of listings a day won't get near that.
Privacy
Card Vault stores the photos and details you add about your cards, and — if you connect eBay — an access token that lets it create and update listings and read orders on your behalf. It never sees or stores your eBay password. Disconnect at any time from Settings; that deletes the token. Your AI key, if you add one, is used only to identify your own card photos.
